In practical terms the fishcommex works in a similar way to internet banking:
A seller, through the use of a cell phone or computer with Internet connection, is able to communicate information (via a marcode) on his sale to fishcommex. This information is then made immediately available to interested and qualified parties involved in the processing, packaging and delivery of the commodity (Service Providers) and Buyers, culminating in an open bidding process by both local and international Buyers for the market-ready product. Throughout the bid process fishcommex provides the Seller periodically with the top bids, which the Seller then accepts or declines. For each bid accepted, fishcommex will automatically adjust the Lot quantity to reflect the remaining balance for sale. A Seller is legally bound to any Bid accepted and can no longer trade in those goods.

Upon acceptance of a Buyers bid, payment is effected by Buyer directly into a fishcommex trust account, and held by fishcommex in trust until product verification by the Buyers agent. When the goods are verified, and fishcommex is notified, immediate transfer and notification of payment to Seller takes place, and goods are released to Buyer.

All Traders on fishcommex (Buyers, Sellers and Service Providers) are anonymous, but are graded by fishcommex according to market and trading credibility. In addition all Traders are registered with fishcommex, and buyers are checked for credit worthiness, and Sellers monitored for correct product quality and description of product on fishcommex. It is this grading system, which is dynamically adjusted per transaction, which is the hallmark of trust between fishcommex Traders.

The backbone of fishcommex is a sophisticated and tested settlement process, which has been approved by the banking system, with secure banking protocols for both local and International payments. Furthermore fishcommex complies with Verisign security requirements.
